Trauma is when we are not seen and known.

Generation Therapy is guided by the following values and frameworks

  • Our patterns, behaviours, and/or diagnoses are not “maladaptive” or “disordered”. There is nothing inherently or fundamentally “wrong” with us — we are simply attempting to cope and respond to our environment. Therefore, our work together will focus on harm reduction.

  • Homophobia and transphobia are built into the structures of our society. As such, we must actively work to create safe spaces for queer folx — spaces that recognize the intersectionalities of the queer folx.

  • You are the expert on your story. Period. My role is to support you in telling your story and reaching your goals.

  • Individual healing is inherently connected to collective healing and vice-versa. My approach strives to re-establish and enhance community connections for the purpose of collective safety, healing, and liberation.

  • Our identities are the collection of overlapping experiences: race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, citizenship, age, (dis)ability, etc. The combination of these various facets — our intersectionality — makes us each unique and is vital to truly understanding who we are.

  • Neurodivergence is real and has felt impacts on our lived experiences. We are the experts on our personal experiences with neurodivergence. Our neurodivergence does not make us less than the neurotypical.

  • As a Social Worker and Therapist, I have the power to impact how you navigate and access services, resources, and institutions. This power is present within the records I keep on your therapeutic process. These records are strictly confidential except in the case of a subpoena or if you request that I share your file with another service provider.
Therefore, to promote transparency in my process and ensure fairness in how your information is recorded, you may request to see and discuss your file at any time. You may also request to see and discuss my qualifications as a Social Worker and Psychotherapist, as well as my history and current standing with the associated regulatory bodies.

  • A major aspect of my value system is the concept of knowledge sharing and the notion that there is no place for gate-keeping within our communities. While I have specific training in the realm of social work and psychotherapy, I do not claim to be the only person that is allowed to have this information, nor do I consider myself an expert on anybody’s experience. We are only expert on ourselves. Therefore, at your request, I am committed to sharing as much information, research, and resources with you as I can.
